Full-time Secondary Roads Maintenance Operator
Ringgold County Secondary Roads Department will be accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Operator.
- Full-time position with competitive benefits package.
- Probationary period of six months.
- Completion of high school or G.E.D. required.
- Must possess within 6 months of hire, a valid Class A CDL and Certified in First Aid.
- Knowledge and experience in the methods, techniques and practices of road construction, maintenance and repair and related equipment.
- Applicants must be able to pass a driving record screen, pre-employment physical examination, background and drug/alcohol test.
Physical Requirements: Operate department equipment requiring manual dexterity and fatigue resistance. Working with tools of various sizes. Some climbing, stooping, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying and other movements with or without weights up to 50 pounds. Must have good vision. Be able to stand and move around on foot for prolonged periods of time on uneven terrain.
Mental Demands: Have close visual and mental attention required when operating equipment. Be able to apply various methods and procedures to safely and effectively work on assignments. Concentration especially important during adverse weather conditions such as rain or snow. Aware of the traveling public and surroundings during operations. Ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers, management, other public officials and the public. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with employees and the public. Ability to follow directions and instructions. Ability to read a map and determine locations.
Work Environments: Work outdoors as well as in the shop. Shop and outdoor work environment may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, adverse weather conditions, moving/operating machinery, noise, dust, vibrations and fumes. Work extended hours when workload demands. Available as required by Road Superintendent and/or the County Engineer.

Full-time Nursing Position
Ringgold County Public Health is accepting applications for a full-time position of Public Health Nurse due to planned retirement of current staff. Iowa RN license required. Benefits include employer-paid health insurance, Iowa Public Employee’s Retirement System (IPERS), and a generous paid-time-off package. Daytime, week-day hours with rare on-call time. Valid Iowa driver’s license and reliable transportation a must.
